Will Blu Ray or Upconvert be an improvement of the image in a non-projector with HDMI?
I watch movies on a digital projector that is not true designed to theaters above the line of origin. (This is an Epson EX-30). I can not afford to upgrade to a new projector with an HDMI port, and I'm trying to improve the image of my current. I'm not as concerned with a high definition picture perfect as I am with an image with better contrast and better accuracy in shades of black and white. The projector uses component video cables, but with my old 480p DVD player, which does not have much and the image still looks a bit muddy. The Epson EX-30 is compatible with most HD devices, but does not have an HDMI port, so I know that if I changed my upconverter player to a Blu Ray or not I get the benefits of HD. My question is, will players to improve contrast and image clarity even a little, or is entirely the fault of the projector make the image The aspect that makes?
If you use the component cables, then the image of a Blu Ray is better, especially if the projector is capable of accepting high definition images. Older projectors used high definition compatible DVI inputs for high definition image. The component inputs present 720p resolution, the minimum required to be considered Hi Def. Your old DVD player, even if you can convert component outputs a 720i image, if it is designed to be an upconverter. Any standard DVD player, no matter what anyone says, you can convert to HD (or 720p)
