How do I connect my surround sound home theater to my computer?
Right now I have 5.1 surround sound for my home theater. I also have sound card my computer connected to my receiver via digital optical cable. I also went to my sound properties in my computer and lists three things: Speakers: not connected to the digital output: HDMI output work: work
I think you have to set the speakers to 5.1 and the rest should function. You may have to lower the volume on the desktop speakers to prevent interference. How do you know your digital output working? The fact that the team thinks they're working does not necessarily mean that it is. I have a SB Audigy and were able to get digital output to work though the team says that things are great. TitoBob: If you just want stereo sound, the question would not have done!
