Connecting a TV, cable box, VCR, DVD player with TiVo Series 2 DT DVR?
I keep the connection (1) box cable to the TiVo and (2) TiVo to TV. To which I can connect the VCR and DVD? Thanks a lot.
The DVD player is hooked directly to TV. Presumably, TV has several sets of inputs. If it is an HDTV, you probably need an HDMI connection, more than one set of component inputs (red, blue, green) plus audio (red and white), and perhaps a set of composite inputs (red, white, yellow). If you have a DVD player relatively Again, you can have an HDMI output (which carries both audio and video). If not, use the component video outputs and add an audio cable. When you see a DVD, switch the input on your TV from where the Tivo is connected to the DVD player connected (there is a button on the remote to do this). As for video, depends on what you do with it. If you want to make tapes of your TiVo, you need to connect to the Tivo (not TiVo and VCR). If you only want to see the tapes, connect directly to your TV using a different set of inputs than it already is used by the Tivo and DVD player. Good luck!
